Uses ELASTOL is effective for removing most petroleum based hydrocarbon liquids from water. When mixed with an oil/water mass, ELASTOL contacts and captures oil in a liquid/liquid extraction process. The viscoelastic nature of ELASTOL allows the use of significant mixing energy without fear of dispersing the extractant (ELASTOL) into the water. This process can also be used for removing soluble hydrocarbons such as Benzene, Ethyl Benzene, Toluene, Xylenes, and MTBE from water. Once mixing has been completed the ELASTOL/oil mass rises rapidly to the surface where it may be skimmed off.
Application: ELASTOL can be applied to the surface of an oil/water separator tank or added to a waste stream before it enters a separation tank. The amount of ELASTOL to be used is dependent upon the viscosity of the oil being removed For example, one gallon of ELASTOL will remove:
Storage and Handling ELASTOL should be stored in a tightly sealed container. It has a shelf life in excess of five (5) years.
