DESA, was founded in the Alexandria, Virginia in 1977. We started as defense related systems analysis contractors to the Defense Department.
Since then our experience and background is in the development of environmental protection programs for Industry.
We now market and provide comprehensive, integrated, technically based, spill response systems and components that provide a complete spill response capability. We also supply add-on product systems to effect efficient separation of all types of oil from aqueous mediums for the manufacturing sector. DESA develops environmental contingency response and remediation plans. We consult on oil spill cleanup and oil/water separation tasks.
DESA is the Canadian and US Mid Atlantic representatives for Action Petroleum oil spill containment and recovery systems. We are an Action Additives Inc.distributor for ELASTOL polymer additives for water surface and column stabilization of spilled hydrocarbons. We distribute the high efficiency Action Petroleum drum skimmer systems, Action Additives sorbent products and the revolutionary new, polymer based Action Additves adsorbents and the "breakthrough", environmentally friendly oil additive products.
DESA is unique in the industry, in that we provide complete oil spill response and recovery system that allows you to contain, stabilize, recover and recycle spilled petroleum hydrocarbons with a much greater level of effectiveness and efficiency than standard system.
We address all of the tasks associated with responding to an oil spill incident including: training, pre-incident planning and boom deployment, rapid initial response and containment of spills, stabilization of the spilled hydrocarbons in the aquatic environment to prevent dispersion, rapid, selective recovery of the spilled material with no water pickup and finally, recycling of the spilled hydrocarbons back into the refining stream, thus eliminating waste disposal costs.
